Introduction to the ECVET for Community Development project

ECVET for Community Development (EfCD) project is a Strategic Partnership for Vocational Education and Training funded under Key Action 2 of the Erasmus Plus Programme, which funds European cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices.

The purpose of the EfCD project is to develop and implement methodologies for the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) to a qualification that available in the United Kingdom – the Level 3 Award in Community Development qualification – to enable it to be delivered and recognised in a wider range of European countries.  The project will also enhance the existing qualification by developing and integrating an additional unit for ‘European Community Development’.

The project is based around a partnership of organisations in five EU Member States – Ireland, Italy, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom – operating within the context of broadly based local, regional, national and European networks of community development organisations, with whom they work as partners, clients and service providers on a diverse range of projects and activities.
