Storm Eunice: Red Weather Warning

Last Friday, the majority of the UK was issued with amber weather warnings with some areas being issued rare red warnings as the Met Office had concerns that Storm Eunice could present ‘danger to life’.

“The storm was expected to be one of the worst storms in decades, with millions told to stay at home to avoid winds of up to 90mph and the army placed on standby.”

As DSC Regen is based in the UK, we thought it was important to share this unbelievably freak weather especially since forecasters have suggested that Storm Eunice could be the “one of the worst storms to hit the UK and Ireland in three decades.“ - Met Office, Twitter

The main concerns during the storm were:

  • Flying Debris, presenting ‘danger to life’ & injury

  • Power supply disruption

  • Stormy Seas & Cliff Edges

  • Hazardous Road Conditions

  • Risk of Fallen Trees/Debris blown on to Rail Tracks

  • Damage to Buildings & Homes

“I’m not convinced that a storm called Dudley, or indeed one called Eunice, presage a sense of devastation. I think they presage a sense that these storms might offer you a nice cup of tea.” - David Baddiel, Twitter
